Need to pay my bill
I have called every number I could find and have been transferred to over 10 different departments and no one can help me!! I need to change my payment information because my bank changed my account number.
I cannot get anyone to help me!!! My account should be past due!!
Bill payment
They promised me one thing and did another, unbelievable how one of Manager promised and stated about payment while at the present time all payment are totally different. It's look like the court will decide who is wrong and who is right.
Vivint Solar - Sales represent lied. Did not give all correct information.
In July we received a bill from PG&E for our True Up Bill for $1095.16 for the complete years usage. This came as surprise to us that we owed PG&E, therefore we called both Vivant and PG&E.
We were told that if we go over our solar that we pull electric from PG&E (at a tiered rate).Yes, you are right I did save money, but it is not the amount of 80% savings I was promised. I asked how come our usage wasn’t evaluated like they said and add more panels.
They said they do not add extra panels and they would stick me on a list. This did not make sense to me because what was initially promised to me prior to installation.

Verified Reviewer | Eastland, TexasIncomplete install
Had solar panels Installed March 28, still not completed as of June 8. AEP has contacted us for meter reading,, but it is not wired in yet..
Have had numerous calls to installer and sales rep that sold it to us with no response as to getting it done, Actually had an appointment today, but that was cancelled because the installer was sick. Do you only have one installer?
With the cost of things going up so dramatically, we cannot afford to pay our electric and the finance payment both for very long. Can someone get on this and get it done PLEASE.

Verified Reviewer | Carl Junction, MissouriSalesman lied about us getting our federal rebate
Salesman said we'd get our federal rebate no matter what. Even when I asked Jake about it he said yes we'll get the 4500 dollar rebate.
Tax time came and tax man said no we didn't because we didn't pay enough in taxes. He will say anything to make a sale I guess.
I asked them to just install and make operational 8 more panels and we will call it good. No answer.
- Good product

Verified Reviewer | Concord, CaliforniaVivint makes fraudulent, unauthorized charges on your credit card
UPDATE: The same exact issue of being billed for electricity when the solar system was not functional took place in 2021- from May to October. Vivint continued to bill us fraudulently.
Our system only functioned for 4 months in 2021. My PG&E true-up this year was $1700.
While working through the issues where Vivint prevented us from refinancing our home due to them filing multiple liens against our title, we discovered the solar system was actually inoperative since May 2020. This was while Vivint was trying to determine a fair market buyout price as a "goodwill" gesture, but in order to do that the solar system obviously has to be functioning as we had observed a 20% reduction in power production over a 5 year period. We brought this fact to their attention.
However, after realizing the solar system was dead, we discovered when the solar system goes down, Vivint continues to makes unauthorized and fraudulent charges against your credit card. They claim these are "estimated" charges, but this not true as in months with partial power production, Vivint chooses to bill at the much higher "estimated" full month production. I've gone over the contract with a fine tooth comb and nowhere is billing for "estimated" power production provided for in the contract. Vivint requires to sign up for auto-pay with a credit card.
Furthermore, in the months where the solar system is down, we must buy the power from PG&E (our utility) at a much higher rate than the Vivint contract rate.
You won't notice this until your year end "true-up" billing. At this point we had paid PG&E for power delivered from mid-May 2020 to January 2021 something like $2000 and Vivint fraudulently auto-charged our credit card over $800 for the same period during which they had produced no electricity. I know this sounds crazy but I am attaching photos of our power delivered and amounts billed by Vivint. You can clearly see in May production ceased mid -month.
Normally you will see upright bars running all the way from left to right. In June, you can see the zero power production and corresponding zero $ charges from Vivint as is appropriate. However, beginning in July you can clearly see that even though there is little or no power production, after noticing a zero income month for them, Vivint hides the system failure by inexplicably falsifying power production on our billing statements and fraudulently charging our credit card for non-existent electricity delivery. It is really quite a scam.
We contacted Vivint numerous times by phone and in writing demanding that they cease making these unauthorized and fraudulent charges against our credit card.
Vivint ignored every request and demand. We were tempted to cancel our credit card, however reading online reviews on other sites we heard about others doing this, however reading online reviews on other sites we heard about others cancelling their credit cards to stop the fraudulent charges, however Vivint continued the inappropriate billings for non-existent electricity production and started reporting the unpaid fraudulent amounts as past due debt! It is all unbelievable, yet true.
So putting aside the multiple liens that prevented us from refinancing our home, the attempts to extort us into signing an Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and "no-claims" settlement falsely portrayed as a "contract amendment", and the fraudulent and unauthorized charges made against our credit card- now we had to go through the excruciating system repair process. Needless to say this was another complete nightmare.
Vivint scheduled and no-showed for 3 appointments. Since the "Ethernet bridge" component suspected of being bad was located inside our home, I had to be present. This meant I took 3 days off work needlessly and Vivint never called r otherwise advised of the no-shows. After I started posting online we did get some actual technician visits, but it took another 3 visits to finally get the system operational (knock on wood).
The technician that finally was able to repair the system had to come all the way from San Jose. These guys were great and finally got it right, but the system had been totally inoperative for over 7 months while Vivint continued to charge our credit card as if the system was completely functional!
In summary, during the process of attempting to resolve the breach of contract multiple liens filed against our property and unethical conduct preventing us from refinancing our home, we discovered that solar system had ceased working, Vivint does no monitor the solar system as articulated in the contract, and Vivint makes unauthorized, fraudulent charges against your credit card not provided for in the contract.
I know this will seem quite unbelievable but documented proof is attached. Buyer Beware!
- Consumer complaint team stalls
- Fraudulently auto-charges credit card for zero electricity
- Seven months to repair completely dead solar system

Verified Reviewer | Lehi, UtahPrevent others from makin the mistake of doing business with Vivint/SunRun
We attempted to refinance our home and discovered that Vivint refused to release and then resubmit the Notice of an Independent Solar Energy Producer Contract filed against our property title, which prevented us from re-financing with Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo contacted Vivint to request a release or resubordination of the "lien" on our title and after Vivint refused to do this Wells Fargo provided an industry standard 1/2 page form for Vivint to complete, which Vivint also refused to do.
Instead, Vivint rep Jacobo Escobar insisted that we sign a new 4 page contract amendment. This new contract amendment was considerably less favorable than the original we had signed and included a statement that we released all claims against Vivint, included a non-disclosure statement, and was actually titled "Settlement Agreement". We of course refused to sign this disadvantageous contract which caused us to incur two mortgage rate lock fees while Jacobo wasted everyone's time before finally relenting and having the "lien" released and re-filed as we had originally requested. If you sign one of these "contract amendments" from Vivint, you will have no legal recourse against them, which is why they try s hard to extort you into signing their 4 page document rather than an industry standard 1/2 page.
You are already contractually limited to arbitration and/or small claims legal venues, but if you sign Vivint's document not only do no longer legal recourse, but you may be subject t litigation if you share your experiences with others and you are forbidden from posting publicly such as here.
Around this time I discovered that Vivint had actually filed two (2) Notices of an Independent Solar Energy Producer Contracts against our property- one in April 2015 and one in November 2015- a clear breach of contract. I related all of these concerns to Aaron Thompson last year and he offered us a $500 credit which is completely unacceptable considering the time and expense incurred, and of course now we no longer trust Vivint as a reputable business partner after this attempt to extort us into silence and a less favorable contract. Mr. Thompson also eventually offered us a buyout price of exactly the same cost had we not experienced such dishonest and unethical behavior from Vivint when attempting to re-finance our home.
Vivint's filing very clearly clouded title of our home preventing us from refinancing on our terms, and Vivint very clearly attempted to coerce if not extort us into signing a less favorable contract amendment including an NDA. Also, the Vivint sales rep indicated that one of the advantages to having solar was the system would continue to produce power during power outages, but didn't tell us that this power produced during outages flows uselessly into the grid while our home remains unpowered, and he also advised that upon moving the solar system could be removed for a one time fee of $500 which is also not true.
We would like Vivint to offer us a realistic compensation offer commensurate with the time and effort and out of pocket costs we incurred while Vivint jerked us around and prevented us from refinancing on our schedule, and we would also like Vivint to remove the solar system from our home or offer us a realistic buyout price considering the duplicate filings against our title and the fact that they system has experienced something like a 20% decline in power production over 5 years. We asked Vivint to perform a standard panel cleaning as part the agreed upon maintenance as per contract, but Vivint has refused. Unfortunately, the contract stipulates the property owner is responsible for any loss or damage to the system not caused by Vivint employees so we are unable to perform the cleaning ourselves or hire professionals without assuming liability for system damage and with all of the fires and 5 years without cleaning we are reasonable certain this failure to clean the panels is contributing to the power production decline.
Vivint quickly responds to BBB complaints to get them removed, then does not follow through.
After making this complaint in August, we discovered that the solar system had actually not been producing power since May even though Vivint continued to bill us for electricity we never received. The rep responding to the BBB complaint (initials JB) played ping pong with the issues and seems is no longer with the company.
The issues have never been addressed, yet alone resolved. Now Vivint seems to have been acquired by SunRun and some of first actions taken are to disable "CEO Promise" communications.
Preferred solution: Make whole, remove solar system due to breach of contract or offer a realistic buyout price that factors the 30% tax credit Vivint took against our installation
User's recommendation: Do not do business with Vivint- you will regret it

Vivant was supposed to have the transfer of it's solar account to me and my wife on 8.4.2021; the closing of escrow on our new house. The purchase price was $808,000.00; not chicken feed!
We had to call and call until Vivant finally sent in the needed paper work on 8.5.2021, a day late.
The agents still have not solved my problem (over 30 days of repeated calls) why I cannot receive an email to verify my Vivant account.
Check my email address please!
