Horrible customer service.

I recently watched a review on YouTube about Vivint Solar and sadly I have had a similar experience.

We had to replace our roof and Vivint made the process so difficult. We had to fight with them just to schedule a date.

Long story and it involves many phone calls and a lot of transferring to different departments because nobody knew what to do.

Recently we sold our home. That means the lease from Vivint goes to the new homeowners. That took two months after we closed. I contacted them two weeks before closing because I wanted to make sure our deal was going thru.

After countless calls from Vivint trying to bill me for the months after we sold I reached someone who tried to help me. She told me that they would not prorate the last month (we sold on the 18th) and that we were responsible for the entire month. She said we had to contact the new homeowners to work it out. Yes, You read that right!

Next issue is our rebate check that we receive every year.

Our contract started in June and we sold our home in June. So we were the homeowners for the full calendar year. So you would think if our system underproduced and we overpaid that we would be the recipients of that refund check. Vivint says first that no the new homeowners would get that check.

Ummmmm no.

Now they are saying our system did not qualify. Ok, so I ask for documentation. Nobody can seem to give it to me.

Finally I got sent to an account resolution specialist. Her name is Nayeli Aguirre.

She gave me her email and direct extension. For two weeks she has said she would call and never does.

To wrap it up, I am still trying to get my issue resolved.

I am still being ignored. I have contacted the local news and Im hopeful some bad press will light a fire under their butts.

If you see the name Vivint attached to anything, RUN!

Cancelation of service: Remove panels

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I would like the Vivint Solar panels removed from my roof. Your phone system needs to be improved I could not reach anyone thus the e-mail I will be doing a renovation on my home and want the panels removed.

Besides, I am not satisfied with the service. I am paying almost $200 a month plus my electricity And there is only one person living here, Several times I was contacted by someone at technician had come out to check on the connection or how the system was performing. It seems that only when a technician comes to the house , that the monthly costs goes down. Another thing : I don't recall the panels ever being cleaned.

Im thinking that may be the reason for the high usage reading Please cancel my account as of October 1, 2020 and remove my panels. What started out as a good thing ended up not being so good

Can't get response from company after paying for removal due to leak

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am writing to warn potential customers that I have a roof leak which requires me to pay them $499 and wait for a phone call to schedule removal of the panels so the roof leak can be assessed and repaired by the roofer. I did that 3 weeks ago and I have yet to receive a call in regards to scheduling this work. I keep emailing and have called and I get the run around. My case has been escalated and all these other platitudes to make me think some one might care. So I am letting people know they are great when you sign up and now that I have an issue after 5 years, I am getting nowhere with this company. Its disgraceful how they lie and say I will get a call in a few days. 3 weeks for a phone call to get scheduled? Then how long will it take to actually have someone show up?? That is the million dollar question right now. What is my guess? A lot longer than 3 weeks. Who knows even if scheduled, someone is going to show up? Why not get it done before the cold weather. I paid and I am getting nothing for this money right now. Shameful and disgraceful to make someone with a rook leak (which was brand new when the panels were put up 5 years ago) wait this long to get a PHONE CALL!!! 1

We have had it with Vivint Solar too. Three and a half years we are still waiting to hear back from them to fix the faulty panels and fix and repair the damages to the roof caused by only leaving a half inch between the roof and the bottom brace's of the panels on in which causes softness and leaks everywhere .

We get nothing from the damage resolution department only to get passed off from representative to representative, even get hung up on several times and forget about the Several emails getting a response that they will call us within two hours , yeah okay Vivint do they actually send you all to learn how to lie to your customers ?

,You all have the same response, ''Someone will get back to you when they are available'' so not the truth ! We now have to higher a legal attorney to Remove all the panels , Strip and plywood and re-shingle the entire roof to stay clear away from anything to do with Vivint Solar

Resolved: Neglect, Stress, Lies, and deception

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with settlement agreement. Vivint agreed to void the contract..

Original review Jun 19, 2020
Vivint Solar has brought our family hardship and unwanted stress, due to neglect and breach of contract. Their massive neglect left us paying a huge PG&E bill and thus put a financial burden on my family. We even had a Vivint representative three way call their billing department and even the Vivint representative was met with harsh words and no results. In accordance with Section 2(C) of our Vivint Contract, it states that Vivint Solar will send You an invoice reflecting the charges for Energy produced by the System. For over a year we didn't receive invoices. Furthermore, the contract also states that Vivint has 30 days from the date of a request to respond, but they missed the 30 day mark. Every time I try and work out a deal with Vivint, I end up having to call because they messed up. They consistently make the customer fix their problems and don't live up to their promises. Then they lie to the BBB that everything is resolved when it's not. The representative even said the words "If you keep complaining on forms or filing with the BBB, then I'll just have to keep contacting you". Which basically tells me that if I don't give up, they have a paid person dedicated to dragging this out until I fold first. The last correspondence between myself and their rep showed that the Vivint company doesn't care about how I feel or that they've put my family through mental stress for years. When it comes down to it, they don't want to lose money and would rather have an upset customer instead. The stress of their instability and lies, for years, has really warn us down and in turn my kids can see it. I don't want my kids seeing mommy and daddy so upset, but Vivint is relentless to let us leave the contract, which was brought on by their flaws and carelessness.

Shut off solar

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Solar is NOT cost effective. We called to have our panels shut off &;;;;;;;; I was told we couldnt because we had agreed in contract to keep them at least 6 years & then we have the option to buy. They offer no discounts to seniors. We are paying more for Solar than we were paying for electric through the utility. We do not remember ever being told we could not cancel if we were unhappy. In fact I believe we were told the opposite. Stay away from Vivint! The cost of leasing increases annually also.

Caution in dealing with this company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

VIVINT SOLAR:

This goes back over ten (10) months. At the beginning I got several calls from the local representative, finally we set an appointment which involved a tour of our property (in September 2019), listening to a lengthy presentation, and finally connecting with his counterpart in Utah.

I was pushed to sign a contract so they could have a site person come out and evaluate the property.

This contract was suppose to include several points that the local rep promised but somehow forgot or changed their minds, even after a signed the contract. These points involved removing an older active solar system (four panels and two storage tanks, 80 gallon each, tree removal to allow better sunlight, improved electrical panel to accomidate this new system, new roof, and disposal of all waste material). Also in the contract, we were suppose to be charged $181 per month, going up 2-3% every single year for 20 years. The only update to this initial contract was the monthly cost, which is neat tucked away in the last few pages of a length 40 page contact.

Nothing we talked about was ever entered into this contract.

When I finally started to review the contract word for word, several things were left out, and the rate was over $205 per month, also going up 2-3% per year for 20 years. When I contacted the Vivant Solar HQ in Utah, I was bounced around from one person to another, I have names and numbers if anyone needs to check. We are now at 10 months, and everyone I talk with at their HQ is the same, please forward all correspondent between myself and the previous reps, so they can come up to date, so NO RECORDS were ever kept on our discussion or updates by Vivint. Also, they decided to refuse to disconnect the existing unit, which would involve a plumber for about 3-5 hours.

Initially they were going to have a plumber quote the job before moving forward, lastly they decided I had to find my own plumber and they might consider the charge, but absolutely refused to put this in writing.

They surprised me in December 2019, when I got a call that a electrician was going to show up the next day to do the electrical work. I contacted the local rep and he said they were ready with the design and all. I told him to modify the contract to reflect everything we have agreed upon, I did document all of this and sent him a copy of my notes, he never denied the notes. Starting the work would tie me into this contract for 20 years, so I refused to let the electrician start the work, THIS WAS THE BEST MOVE ON MY PART.

Once work begins, I cannot get out of the contract, so obviously they wanted to get going as soon as they could based on the initial contract. They are so smooth!!!! As far as I know, Vivint Solar is not BBB accredited and has a warning alert of Government Action on their page, as well as 813 filed customer complaints over the last 3 years.

I could go on and one about the way they stretched the truth at Vivint. I honestly believe that they all take a course in stretching the truth.

Each person needs to make up their own minds about Vivint, but I would caution ANYONE considering Vivint to get every single point in writing and have a contract notarized from them. I personally would never recommend them, especially with the way they change their stories from day to day.

I told them from day one, this would not be a typical project and the local rep and his co-partner in Utah had no problem and wanted to move forward. Everyone should make up their own minds, but if you blink even once, you can be paying more than expected and not get what you had agreed upon with these people.

And once you get them into a corner, they just tell you that the contract has been cancelled and your account closed, never giving consideration for months of wasted time.

I am now working with another company, that is completely different from the two faced people at Vivant. I am just presenting my experience and letting people know the type of people that they will be dealing with at Vivint, a twenty (20) year contract is a long time, make sure of what you sign and expect, DO NOT put any stock in their sales pitch.

Vivint solar installed panels on my house without me signing any contract. They have a signed contract they say I signed with docu sign. This is a lie. After paying $700 a month for the solar power and also the electric company I called vivint they said the system was down. How the heck did you send me a bill if the system was down? No answer from them on that. Then I asked for $1000 incentive for getting solar. No such incentive existed, then I asked for them to fix outlet for auto sprinklers they disconnected no responseThiss company is the worst and I plan to take them to court! I wish I could give them a zero

No customer service

I have been requesting an agent from the company that installed my electrical panel to come and inspect the panel. I cannot use part of my house because the electrical plugs do not work. This has been going on since 9/11/2019. I have been getting a lot of case numbers but no resolve.
